126 Covid-19 patients detected in separate testing drives in city

Aurangabad, March 22:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has detected 126 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

50 Covid-19 positives from the business fraternity

The health teams tested 348 business people and their staff at six places and detected 50 Covid-19 patients. The team found eight infected by testing 66 at New Gulmandi, four by testing 37 at Angoori Baugh, four by testing 43 at Balaji Dharamshala, 11 by testing 97 at Adalat Road, six by testing 36 at Rangar Galli, and 17 by testing 69 at Patidar Bhavan, stated the AMC.

37 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has started testing visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) today. The teams tested 70 persons and found five infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 55 and detected 23 at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 33 and found six Covid-19 positives at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 18 and detected two at Octroi Naka PoE, and tested 26 and detected one at Daulatabad T-Point PoE. No patient was detected while testing six persons at Jhalta Phata PoE.

32 found Coronavirus infected at government offices

The testing of visitors was also held at five government offices. The team detected four Covid-19 positives by testing 22 visitors at AMC headquarter, 12 by testing 32 visitors at the police commissionerate office, six by testing 41 visitors at the district collectorate and five after testing 101 visitors at the RTO office today. No infected patient was found through testing 119 visitors at the divisional commissionerate.

Seven passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

Three train and four air passengers, who had arrived in the city on Sunday, have been reported as Covid-19 positive today. The AMC health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 73 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and 57 passengers arriving at Chikalthana airport by plane on March 21. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today.
