1st Sem students surprised to see 2nd Sem syllabus questions in exams

Aurangabad, May 12:

The students of M A English-first semester were surprised to see questions of the second-semester syllabus in their paper conducted on May 11. Significantly, the centre chief asked the students to continue the examination rather than giving the correct question paper.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University started conducting postgraduate courses examinations on May 5.

The first semester (M A English) students reached the centre on May 11 as usual to take their paper titled ‘Literature in English-1550 to 1798 (paper No I). However, the candidates were shocked to see the wrong questions in their paper.

They learnt that the questions were from the second-semester syllabus.

Students asked the chief at one of the centres in the city that they should get the correct question paper. The centre chief asked them to continue the same paper. The candidates also submitted a complaint to the university about the wrong question paper.

Talking to this newspaper, the candidates said they were supposed to get the right questions based on the syllabus they had prepared for, but to their surprise, the questions asked were from the second-semester syllabus.

Talking to this newspaper, the director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil, said that if the students would get marks if they are asked wrong questions in the examinations.
