Aurangabad, July 3:

Two teachers returning from Pune to the city died as their car dashed a parked truck at Supa village near Pune on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Chandrashekhar Laxmanrao Thakur (N-11, Hudco) and Sanjay Bhanudas Lendale (N-2, Cidco).

Lendale had planned to leave his daughter to Mumbai, who is studying BHMS there and return via Pune in his car given for repair in a garage. He took Thakur with him, and both of them, leaving her at Mumbai, went to Pune. Earlier, Thakur’s wife, owning to the lockdown situation due to the Corona crisis, opposed Thakur to go, but Lendale insisted, saying that he will take all the responsibilities.

They collected the car (MH 20 DJ 9695) from the garage at around 8 pm and were returning to Aurangabad. Their car dashed a parked truck from the backside near Supa village near Pune, in which both the teachers died on the spot. Chandrashekhar Thakur was a teacher at Mathpati, and he was a very good singer. He had presented songs at the Zilla Parishad Office and Matoshri Old Age Home on Republic day. He used to participate in several cultural programmes, informed a teacher Prakash Dani. He is survived by wife, son, and daughter. The last rites were performed on him at the N-11, Hudco crematorium.

Sanjay Lendale was an excellent sportsperson. He was good badminton, cricket, chess, and Kho-Kho player. He secured first prize in the carom competition held in the city in 2009-10, informed a teacher Mahendra Barwal. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. The last rites were performed on him at his native village Sonvihar in Shevgaon tehsil in Ahmednagar district.
