3 die of Mucormycosis

Aurangabad, July 9:

After the Corona wave receded, the danger of the Mucormycosis grappled the district. The number of patients are increasing gradually. On Friday, three patients died while seven new patients were admitted.

The Corona patients, after being recovered from the disease, are facing the infection of Mucormycosis. Persons with comorbidities are more prone to this disease. The number of patients is increasing not only in the city but other places in the districts of Marathwada and districts from other regions.

Considering the severity of the disease, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is collecting the daily information of the patients at the private and government hospitals. Accordingly, 1156 Mucormycosis patients have been reported in the city so far, of which 853 recovered, 144 died, and 159 are being treated presently. Three patients died on Friday of which, two died in the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and one in the Hedgewar Hospital. Seven new patients were reported.
