3 die of Mucormycosis

Aurangabad, July 11:

After the Corona wave has receded, the Mucormycosis is getting severe in the city. Three deaths were reported on Sunday. The total number of deaths due to this disease reached 147 now while the number of active patients is 150.

The patients recovered from Covid-19 and with comorbidities are suffering from Mucormycosis. Patients are not only from the city but the patients form various part of the Marathwada region are coming to the city for treatment. The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is collecting the daily data of the patients. In all, 1159 patients have been reported so far, of which, 148 died while 150 are presently being treated. Three died on Sunday, of which two died at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and one in Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital. 861 patients recovered so far and were given discharge from the hospital. Presently, 30 are being treatment at MIT Hospital, 27 at GMCH, 25 at Hedgewar Hospital, 25 MGM 11 District Civil Hospital (DCH).
