30 Covid-19 patients detected in separate testing drives in city

Aurangabad, May 17:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today have detected 30 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

13 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) on Monday. The health teams tested 187 persons and found no infected patient at Chikalthana PoE; tested 146 and detected six at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 169 and found six at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 300 and detected one at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 213 and detected no patient at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and none of them was detected in the testing of 74 visitors at Jhalta Phata PoE.

13 passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

A total of 13 passengers arriving by train in the city on Sunday have been reported as Covid-19 positives today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 112 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and six passengers arriving at Chikalthana Airport on May 16. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 117 train passengers arriving at the railway station and six air passengers at the Chikalthana Airport on May 17. The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.

Two Covid-19 spreaders detected on roads

The 12 mobile teams (comprising AMC health and police personnel) have conducted antigen tests of 98 persons moving on the roads, in the jurisdiction of 15 police stations, and detected two Covid-19 patients on Monday. The testing is done in two shifts (from 9 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 1 am) and there are six teams in each shift.

Two patients in a government office

The health teams conducted antigen tests on visitors at various government offices in the city on Monday. The team detected two infected patients by testing 14 visitors at the police commissioner's office. The testing was done in the offices of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, High Court, Divisional Commissionerate, District Collectorate, etc. but no one was found infected by Coronavirus.
