35 Covid-19 patients detected in separate testing drives in city

Aurangabad, April 29:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today have detected 35 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

22 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) on Thursday. The health teams tested 218 persons and found 12 infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 145 and detected two at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 259 and found one Covid-19 positive at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 318 and detected five at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 160 and detected two at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and no one was detected during testing of 204 at Jhalta Phata PoE.

Eight passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

A total of eight passengers arriving by train, in the city on Wednesday, have been reported as Covid-19 positives today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 80 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains (testing of air passengers was not done due to cancellation of flights) on April 28. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 57 train passengers arriving at the railway station, and 25 tests on air passengers on April 29. The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.

Four Covid-19 spreaders detected on roads

The 12 mobile teams (comprising AMC health and police personnel) have conducted antigen tests of 103 persons moving on the roads, in the jurisdiction of 15 police stations, and detected four Covid-19 patients on Thursday. The testing is done in two shifts (from 9 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 1 am) and there are six teams in each shift.

One patient in a government office

The health teams conducted antigen tests on visitors at various government offices in the city on Thursday. The team detected one infected patient by testing 13 visitors at the police commissionerate office. The testing was done in the offices of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, High Court, Divisional Commissionerate, District Collectorate, etc. but no one was found infected by Coronavirus.
