52K liters vaccine storage capacity empty

Aurangabad, April 29:

The city has a cold storage capacity of 52 cubic meters to store 52,000 liters of Corona vaccines. However, the storage was not filled to the full capacity until today. The vaccines received are used immediately, and the storage is empty now. On Wednesday, only 8,000 doses were received for the district, but it was over within few minutes, and the storage was empty again.

The vaccination drive started across the country on January 16. Initially, the health workers, frontline workers, senior citizens and 45 years above with co-mobidities were administered vaccines. Now, everyone is eagerly waiting for the vaccination of the persons above 18 years above. The success of this drive rests on the availability of vaccines. The deputy health directorate received 28,000 doses of vaccines on Wednesday, of which Aurangabad received 8,000 doses, Jalna 12,000, and Parbhani 8,000.

So far, the district received 4,06,000 Covishield doses and 25,250 Covaccine doses. The health deputy directorate office has a storage capacity of 16 cubic meters, Cantonment 12 Cubic meters and Family Planning Training Institute 12 Cubic meters two storages. Similarly, two more storages with a capacity of 20 cubic meters each are being established. After the establishment, the cold storage of Corona vaccines in the city will be 92 cubic meters, informed the deputy health director, Dr Swapnil Lale.
