70 Covid-19 patients detected in separate testing drives in city

Aurangabad, April 16:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has detected 70 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

36 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) today. The health teams tested 163 persons and found 11 infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 228 and detected 12 at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 196 and found six Covid-19 positives at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 326 and detected four at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 117 and detected two at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and one was detected by testing 200 at Jhalta Phata PoE.

Five Coronavirus infected found in government offices

The testing of visitors was held at six government offices. The team has detected one Covid-19 patient each by conducting antigen tests of visitors at the police commissioner's office, the High Court and the divisional commissioner's office, apart from two patients by testing 16 visitors at the AMC headquarter. The testing was also done at the RTO office and the district collectorate but no infected person was detected today.

25 passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

A total of 21 train and four air passengers, who had arrived in the city on Sunday, have been reported as Covid-19 positives today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 69 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and 26 passengers arriving at Chikalthana airport by planes on April 18. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 62 train passengers arriving at the railway station and 49 tests on air passengers at the Chikalthana airport today (on April 19). The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.

Four Covid-19 spreaders detected on roads

The 12 mobile teams (comprising AMC health and police personnel) have conducted antigen tests of 134 persons founding moving on the roads, in the jurisdiction of 15 police stations, and detected four Covid-19 patients on Monday. The testing is done in two shifts (from 9 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 1 am) and there are six teams in each shift.
