ACB nabs head constable while accepting bribe of Rs 60K in his own police station

Aurangabad, June 1:

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught red-handed a head constable of Waluj MIDC police station while accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a complainant today morning. The ACB arrested Ganesh Dnyaneshwar Antrap (hawaldar) at the entrance gate of his own police station.

According to details, one company of Waluj MIDC area had submitted an application accusing the complainant of selling Marijuana (locally known as Ganja). However, the company refused to lodge a complaint officially in November. The application was with Antrap, who then contacted the complainant and demanded a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh to avoid taking legal action against him. The complainant was in no mood to grease the palm of Antrap, as a result, he lodged the complaint against the cop with ACB.

Under the supervision of deputy superintendent of police (ACB) Brahmadev Gavade, the police inspector Nandkishore Kshirsagar and his team verified the complaint. In the meantime, Antrap contacted the complainant told him to deliver

Rs 60,000 cash in the police station.

Accordingly, as per plan, the ACB officials and personnel laid a trap. All of them were wearing the civil dress. At 10 am, the head constable accepted the money from the complainant. As soon as he accepted the ACB team pounced on him and arrested him at the police station's entrance gate. Meanwhile, the process of filing offence against Antrap was underway in Waluj MIDC police station till late in the night.
