ADCCB's new body to be elected today; counting on March 22

Aurangabad, March 20:

The election to the board of directors (BoD) of Aurangabad District Central Co-operative Bank (ADCCB) will be held tomorrow (on March 21). A total of 1,114 voters will cast their votes through 10 polling centres from 8 am to 4 pm.

There are 21 directors on the board. However, the election is going to be held for 18 only as two candidates - EGS minister Sandeepan Bhumre and Kiran Patil Dongaonkar - from Paithan and Khuldabad tehsils are declared as elected unopposed from Agriculture Constituency (Sheti Matadar Sangh), while the election for the third seat from Personal Constituency (Vayaktik Matadar Sangh) will not be held as no one had filed the nomination.

On March 21, the election will be held for five seats from a non-agriculture constituency, one from a processing constituency, two constituencies are reserved for women, seven seats from agriculture constituency and one each from SC/ST, VJNT and OBC constituencies, respectively. Ten polling centres have been set up (two in Aurangabad and one at each tehsil), and 1,114 voters will cast their votes. The voters, reported as Covid-19 infected or suspect, will be allowed to cast a vote from 3.30 pm to 4 pm. These infected persons will have to come in the PPE kit for voting, said the election returning officer Mukesh Barhate.

It may be noted that Shetkari Vikas Panel (SVP) and Shetkari Sahakar Bank Vikas Panel (SSBVP) are contesting against each other. Haribhau Bagade, Bhumre, Abdul Sattar and Nitin Patil are leading SVP, while Kalyan Kale and Subhash Zambad are leading SSBVP. The counting of votes will be held on March 22.
