Adequate measures to prevent spread of Covid-19 found missing at administrative offices!

Aurangabad, Oct 13:

The government''s administrative offices like the divisional commissionerate, district collectorate, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad etc. are responsible for ensuring that the government guidelines in connection with Covid-19 are being implemented by subordinates and followed by the citizens in their respective jurisdictions.

However, during the visit to the above offices, sheer violation of norms was observed.

The district collectorate displayed publicity boards and stickers about the My Family My Responsibility scheme on the campus, but there was nobody to sanitise hands of visitors, to check temperature through thermal screening gun or to prevent entry for not wearing a face mask. The visitors and others were moving on the campus freely. More or less, the same situation was observed in the above other offices.

Whether it is a government or private office, it is mandatory upon each office''s staff and visitors to wear masks, use sanitisers and maintain social distances while on campus. However, the government offices which enforce the rules themselves were not observing it.

There was no checking up of visitors through the thermal gun at the divisional commissionerate. Anybody could reach till the divisional commissioner''s office lounge.

The AMC office also witnesses heavy rush daily. The main entrance is closed for the public. The entry to the public is given through a small door. The AMC has appointed one staff member to check visitors through the thermal gun, but there is nobody to check when he goes for lunch. In two hours, many visitors went inside the headquarter office and came out without checking. The situation in AMC''s Building No - 3 was also concerning. There was no usage of sanitiser and no checking of visitors as well. The same was the situation in the Zilla Parishad office.

It is apparent that the staff from these administrative offices may come in contact with Covid-19 patients if he/she is allowed entry without checking up on the campus.

The women personnel were alert at the police commissionerate. They were telling people to first put on a mask before entering the building, and each one of them was being checked through an oximeter. In the office of State GST, the visitors were using sanitisers on their own, while the GSDA office had appointed one employee to check the health of visitors through the thermal gun.
