Aurangabad, Jan 20:

The state's school education and sports (DSES) department has allowed reopening of primary schools and conduct classes from Standard Vth to VIIIth, from January 27. However, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator A K Pandey has issued an independent order, today evening, allowing schools to conduct classes from Standard VIth to VIIIth only.

All the schools in the city were closed down due to the pandemic situation since March 23. The lockdown situation started to ease from October. As a result, the state government under Mission Begin Again first permitted to run classes from Standard IXth to XIIth, and now the DSES had issued a circular for the schools. As the order does not apply to the AMC area, the civic administrator issued the independent order. The schools will be reopening after a gap of ten months.

Meanwhile, the teachers and non-teaching staff are directed to conduct RT-PCR tests before re-opening of the schools. The order also directs the schools to obtain parents consent before starting the schools. If some students continue to prefer attending the online classes, then it should remain unaffected, stated the order.
