AMC attracts participation of housing societies in controlling Covid-19

Aurangabad, April 15:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has declared 26 containment zones on the basis of the reporting of Coronavirus infected patients in the respective areas. Of the three types of containment zones, the AMC will be fixing responsibility upon the chairman and the secretary of each housing society, falling under micro containment zones, to ensure that maximum occupants in their society undergoes testing and are vaccinated. They will also be instructed to share the information, about any occupants detected as Covid-19 positive during the testing, with the civic body.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said, " The AMC has declared three types of containment zones. They are big, medium and micro containment zones. The AMC's focus is on reducing the spreading of Coronavirus in the micro-zones which had been declared after 20 per cent of occupants of apartment or township were detected as Covid-19 positives. Hence the responsibility will be given to the housing society chairman and secretary of each housing society. The volunteers of the different containment zones should come forward to help AMC in breaking the spreading chain of the Coronavirus."

The MoH continued that many of the citizens after testing Covid-19 positive are undergoing the HRCT test. The Central Government team during its visit to the city in the last week had expressed their displeasure over it. Hence, the HRCT test should not be done without the consultation of a doctor.

Meanwhile, the AMC has adequate stock of Remdesivir injection and it is planning to procure more, soon. Besides, there are 3 lakh antigens test kits and 60,000 RT-PCR test kits available in the stock, it is learnt.
