AMC collects taxes of Rs 6.69L; seals one property; disconnects two water connections

Aurangabad, March 3:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed one school and disconnects water connections of two property-holders during the drive to recover the property and water tax, today. Meanwhile, the Special Task Force deployed for recovery of taxes managed to collect dues of Rs 6.69 lakh, from the jurisdictions of Zone Numbers 5, 6 and 8, on Wednesday.

Task Force in action

In Zone No 5, the civic officials sealed Ramabai High School (in Cidco N-7 sector) as it failed to pay the property tax of Rs 14.95 lakh. In Zone No 8, the AMC officials also disconnected the main water supply connection of the Sara Harmony (in Kanchanwadi) to recover water tax dues of Rs 6.69 lakh. Later on, the officials severed the water supply connection of Khayyum Shaikh of Hussain Colony (in Zone No 6) to recover property tax dues of Rs 75,580.

Collection of Rs 6.69 lakh

In Zone No 5, the task force collected property tax of Rs 20,000 from Sanu Hari Chandani (of Rajgadnagar); Rs 35,000 (through cheque) from Yeshwantrao Chavan Bal Vikas Kendra and Rs 95,708 (through cheque) from Babu Teema (in Cidco N-5 sector).

In Zone No 6, the squad collected Rs 45,725 from Satish Raut; Rs 25,000 from Rukhsana Shaikh and Rs 22,900 from Madhav Bhoje (all three of Hussain Colony); Rs 69,504 from Manoj Misal; Rs 50,000 from Alka Munde; Rs 40,000 from Deepak Dighe; Rs 84,200 from Haribhau Kondke and Rs 30,000 from Gurunath Swamy (all five from Jaibhavaninagar). The payments were made through cheques. The AMC also collected Rs 1.15 lakh as property and water tax from Pawan Dongre (of Cidco N-3 sector), stated the release.
