AMC demands 1L vaccine to continue Mega Vaccination Mission

Aurangabad, April 7:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched started Mega Vaccination Mission. However, the present stock of vaccine supplied by the state government is likely to be exhausted in three days. As a result, the civic health officials had placed an order for a one lakh vaccine, but they fear if the stock is not supplied at the earliest then the AMC may have to stop the vaccination mission.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said," The ratio of patients compared to the previous situation is less, but the ratio of deaths is not reducing. If the citizens' tests Coronavirus infected after taking the vaccine then the loss will not be major. Hence the AMC had started the mission and it has evoked a good response. We are giving vaccines to thousands of citizens daily. Presently, the AMC has a stock of vaccine which could exhaust in three days. We have demanded to supply 1 lakh vaccine. So far, we had vaccinated 1.52 lakh citizens. If we do not receive the vaccine in a couple of days then we would have to stop the mission."

SG officials held VC

The state government's higher officials had a meeting with local officers through video conferencing today. The meeting reviewed the status of patients and the vaccination mission. Mumbai's officials apprised that the state government has a stock of 14 lakh vaccine. This erupted confusion over how many vaccines the AMC would be getting against its demand and it would decide about the mission.
