AMC deploys 150 personnel of CCCs on tax collection

Aurangabad, July 22:

With an aim to enhance the revenue collection during the current financial year, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has deployed 150 personnel on the task of collecting property and water taxes collection. They were working in various capacities at the AMC's different Covid Care Centres in the city.

The AMC administrator A K Pandey took the decision after reviewing the poor recovery of taxes during 2020-21. As reported earlier, the civic administration has started 22 CCCs in the city to treat the infected patients during the first and the second waves. Now, there is a relaxation in the situation after the second wave. There were only 22 active patients on Wednesday. Reviewing the drop in patients, the AMC temporarily stopped the functioning of CCCs, excluding Meltron CCC. If the third wave hits the city then the AMC planned to restart the CCCs. Till then the 150 personnel, who were working in them, have been given the responsibilities of tax collection.

There are nine zones in the jurisdiction of AMC. Hence these staff will be divided into nine zones and strive hard to boost the revenue collection, it is learnt.
