Aurangabad, April 16:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in association with Aurangabad City Police has launched the drive to conduct tests on persons roaming on the roads without any reasons. The mobile teams conducting antigen tests on 161 persons detected three Covid-19 patients, on the first day of the drive, today.

It may be noted that the state government has announced strict action against violators. The AMC is also taking all possible measures, but it has been observed that 20 per cent of the citizens are not following the safety guidelines. They are posing threat as superspreaders to others. Despite making appeals, the citizens were seen roaming on the roads without any valid reasons. Hence to take action against them the AMC deployed 15 mobile teams today and the infected patients were detected. The testing drive will continue for some more days.

Meanwhile, the civic administration has appealed to the citizens to avoid going out of the homes. Step out of the houses only if there are some urgent essential works. However, the persons working in the essential services sectors can step out of their houses for the work. Meanwhile, the police took mild action in some parts of the city today over violations.
