Aurangabad, Nov 28:

The water supply officials from Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) are rubbing their shoulders with the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) personnel to overcome the damage which had occurred in the 700 mm sized cement concrete water pipeline, near SSC Board, since Friday morning. The task is expected to complete by tonight.

An oblong shape hole got formed in the pipeline due to damage on Thursday at around 10 am. Being a 40-year-old water pipeline, the AMC sent a team to bring the required materials required to seal the damage from Dhule and undertook the task from Friday early morning. Meanwhile, the damaged pipeline supply''s water to the old city, and they are forced to suffer and live with little or no drinking water in their taps for the past three days.

The executive engineer Kiran Dhande said, " We are facing technical hurdles in accomplishing the task. We had to dig a pit and then excavate the walls of the pit beneath the cement road to reach till the damaged spot. The work will continue till late in the night."

The pipeline supplies water to elevated storage reservoirs at Shahgunj, Jinsi and Jubilee Park. The AMC tried its best to supply water to the areas dependent on these ESRs, but due to shortage, the supply of water is being made late by a couple of hours than the regular schedule. Meanwhile, the water supply schedule of some areas has been postponed for a couple of days till the situation is improved.
