AMC instructed to take precautionary measures after bird flu cases reported in State

Aurangabad, Jan 11:

The Central and State Government instructed Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) take precautionary measures as bird flu started spreading in the State.

Avian influenza has been confirmed the cause of 900 birds death across the State.

The letter of instructions was issued to the AMC by Animal Husbandry Department of Pune.

Additional commissioner of Animal Husbandry Department of the civic body B B Nemane asked its health department and nine wards officers to report them or District Veterinary Hospital if any bird is found dead at water bodies, Salim Ali lake, Khaam and Sukhna rivers, parks and big trees. The department concerned will take action to control the flu on receiving the information from the officers.
