Aurangabad, April 3:

If the sources are to be believed the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administration has chalked out a plan to start 100 vaccination centres in the city. The AMC administration is hoping to receive a stock of 1 lakh Covid-19 vaccine in a couple of days. If all goes well, the centres may start functioning from Monday.

It may be noted that the Coronavirus is spreading fast in the city. There is the detection of between 1000 and 1500 patients daily. All the 14 Covid Care Centres (CCCs) started by AMC are full. Meanwhile, to break the spreading chain of the Coronavirus, the AMC had started the vaccination drive in the city by setting up 45 vaccination centres. The drive evoked a good response from the citizens.

Meanwhile, the government had ordered the AMC to administer the vaccine to a maximum number of people. Taking cue of it, the AMC has made jumbo planning to implement the mega vaccination drive in the city, soon. The civic administration has planned to start 100 more vaccination centres. All the ward officers, personnel and the deputy commissioner Aparna Thete today completed the planning work.

According to the sources in the health section, " The deputy director (health) Dr Swapnil Lale has informed that the stock of one lakh vaccine will be supplied to AMC in two days. After receiving it, the civic officials will dispatch it to the vaccination centres, to be started in every ward of the city. Presently, there are 45 vaccination centres (of AMC and private). Hence with the addition of new centres, the vaccine will be given through 145 vaccination centres."
