AMC to relocate ward office from Satara

Aurangabad, July 14:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) authorities are searching for a suitable building and location to re-establish or relocate its Ward Office from Satara. The present office deprive of adequate space and exists in the old office building of the then Satara Deolai Municipal Council (SDMC) for the past five years.

Presently, the citizens staying in colonies around Satara and Deolai had to come a long way to either pay their taxes or deposit money for the tankers. Moreover, the first-time visitors had to literally search for the office. This proves dearer when the search is through using private transportation. The senior citizens also grieved of facing severe inconvenience.

The jurisdiction of the ward/zone office comprises eight election wards. Due to shortage of space in the existing old building. the ward officer, ward engineer, and personnel from other sections relating to tax collection, birth, and death registration, etc had to face inconvenience. The residents staying in different colonies developed on Beed Bypass road claimed that they had to visit Satara village to redress their grievances. Many a time, the concerned officer is not available. As

a result, they had to visit AMC headquarter in connection with their problems.

It may be noted that there are many government and semi-government officials staying in colonies comprising under the zone. They voluntarily pay the taxes. As a result, the ward office tops in the collection of property and water tax. Presently, the roof of the office is also leaking, therefore, the staff fearing of getting their computers damaged. The ward officer concerned and personnel had proposed to the superiors to have an office with adequate space.

When contacted the AMC deputy commissioner Santosh Tengade said, " We have seen buildings between Mahanubhav Ashram to MIT College and in the vicinity of Renukamata Mandir and Deolai Chowk. The legal procedure has not been started. The municipal commissioner A K Pandey has also granted permission to find a new and spacious office. The new office will help the people from Satara-Deolai and others to visit the office at their convenience, register their complaints relating to civic amenities, etc. We are trying our best to find out the new office as soon as possible."
