ASCDCL declares Streets4People Design Competition results

Aurangabad, April 15:

The Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) has released the much-awaited results of the Street Design Competition held in the city as a part of the Streets for People Challenge.

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator and ASCDCL chief executive officer A K Pandey had organized the competition inviting designs for the transformation of four city streets including Kranti Chowk, Paithan Gate, Connaught Circle and MGM Road. More than 250 participants had applied for the contest and 27 designs were received.

The jury comprised AMC's deputy municipal commissioner Aparna Thete, assistant director town planning (ADTP) Jayant Kharwadkar, landscape architect & urban expert Mayura Patil, co-founder, CARPE Gauri Mirashi, urban planner Sneha Nair and architect & heritage conservationist Sneha Bakshi. The jury selected the best designs based on vision and originality of idea, design for all, ease of implementation and design technicality.

The winners of the competition

The winners of Kranti Chowk Street are Studio Infill, Crimson Design Studio and Riya Mundada holding first, second and third rank respectively. The winners of Paithan Gate Street are Kuldeep Bhatia, Kishor Palani and Medha Naik holding first, second and third rank respectively. The winners of Connaught Circle are URF, Ecoarch and Urban Atelier holding first, second and third rank respectively, and the winner of MGM/Cidco Street is Ruchi Patil.

It may be noted that the winners (who are designers or architects) will be associated with the ASCDCL to ensure that the designs are implemented on the respective streets under the guidance of ASCDCL additional CEO Arun Shinde and deputy CEO Pushkal Shivam.
