Aurangabad, May 12:

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI, New Delhi) has decided to extend the closure of its all centrally protected monuments, sites, and museums, due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country, today.

Earlier, the Director (Monuments) N K Pathak had issued an order (on April 15) about the closure of monuments with immediate effect till May 15, 2021. Today, the director has issued a fresh directive and underlined extending the closure till further orders.

It may be noted that the heritage sites and monuments in the jurisdiction of Aurangabad district were closed for tourists and visitors from March 11 till April 30 on the orders of the district administration. Later on, the ASI directorate as a precautionary measure took the decision of closure till May 15, and now sensing seriousness it again extended further till the May end. The ASI headquarter has alerted all the circles in this regard.
