Aurangabad's weekend lockdown pattern adopted for the state

Aurangabad, April 4:

Considering the increasing number of corona patients in the city, the district administration has called for a partial lockdown in the district from March 11. There is a complete lockdown on weekends. The decision to implement the same weekend lockdown pattern in the entire state from Monday was taken in a meeting convened by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.

In March, the number of corona victims suddenly increased in Aurangabad. In the first 12 days alone, the virus killed 400 patients, while on March 12, 617 new cases were reported. On the same day, treatment was started on 4,464 patients. With the growing numbers, the district administration announced a complete lockdown. This decision was strongly opposed by the traders, industrialists, politicians and other organizations in the district. Due to strong opposition to the lockdown, the district collector then announced a partial lockdown between March 11 and April 4 including a complete lockdown every Saturday and Sunday, and strict corona restrictions for the rest of the day. It received a good response from the citizens. Night curfew has also been imposed in the district. The decision of the state government to partial lockdown is being welcomed from all levels.

Welcome the decision of the state government

Complete lockdown is not a solution to prevent corona. The district administration had started a partial lockdown after seriously considering our demands. Today, the same decision has been taken by the state government. On the one hand, measures are being taken to prevent corona. On the other hand, the economic cycle is kept running. We welcome the decision of the state government, said Kamlesh Dhoot, president CMIA.

Traders will continue to support

For the first time, the government has agreed to the demands of traders. The Jilha Vyapari Mahasangh has consistently opposed the entire lockdown. The traders responded well to the partial lockdown. The same decision is now applied to the entire state. The traders in the state will extend full cooperation to the state government, said Jagannath Kale, president Vyapari Mahasangh.
