Aurangabad, May 10:
District collector Sunil Chavan approved Rs 10 lakh fund in the annual district plan for the development of sports ground of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu). The development of the ground will commence soon.
It may be noted that Sunil Chavan visited the university recently and held discussions with vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole on different projects. He promised to provide financial aid to the COVID testing laboratory, gymnasium and sports ground.
The sports department had submitted the fund proposal to the administration.
A total of Rs 7 lakh would be used for growing grass, installing sprinklers and water arrangement while the remaining amount would be utilised for gymnasium equipment for youths training for police recruitment. Sunil Chavan said that the ground of the university would be recognised as an oxygen hub in the coming days.
