Stepping Stones High School celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s 151th birthday with a talk by Barry ’Brien, a leading quiz master, motivational speaker and former member of the Legislative Assembly, West Bengal.

The virtual assembly, streamlined live on YouTube, gave a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi.

The celebration started with the school song and Steppers offering a special tribute to the ‘Father of the Nation.’ Students articulated Gandhi’s ideology and contributions towards Indian independence skilfully through various mediums like- songs, thoughts, talks and a PowerPoint presentation.

Principal Dr Angelo Michael D’Cruize introduced O’Brien who motivated the attendees through his inspirational speech in which he emphasized on the three powerful principles coined by Mahatma Gandhi i.e. “In a gentle way you can shake the world”, “My Life is a Message” and “Nobody can hurt me without my permission”, giving a message to students of being powerful and successful in life. The timeline of Gandhiji’s life was beautifully presented by students through a PPT explaining why Gandhiji chose to follow the path of non-violence. They presented the philosophical and pragmatic ideals of Gandhiji.
