Bengali Association to host 44th celebration of Shree Shree Durga Puja-2020

Aurangabad, Oct 21: The Bengali Association, Aurangabad will be hosting its 44th Shree Shree Durga Pooja Celebrations this year. Owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Pooja will be symbolic with an idol which has arrived from Kolkata. All rituals will be followed in the presence of only five individuals who include two Pujaris and one office-bearer. There will be no visitors allowed. The Pooja is going to take place at the meeting hall of Kaali Baari premises, Garkheda. For the ease of all members, the Darshan and Pushpanjali will be virtually available to each and every individual. The auspicious Durga Pooja begins on Thursday (i.e., Maha Shashthi ) by ‘Ghat Sthapana’ followed by ‘Kola Bou snan’ on Maha Saptami, ‘Sandhi Puja’ in the mid-time between Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami and will continue till Maha Dashami (October 26). Due to Covid-19, the Association has canceled the famous ‘ Sindur Utsav’ on the day of Vijaya Dashami that features married women. The Pooja will be performed on every morning and evening according to the ‘Panjika-tithi’.

The Bengali Association president Pritish Chatterjee, Durga Puja Committee chairman A K Sengupta, vice-president Ratan Bhowmick, joint secretary A K Panja, treasurer G C Bannerjee and other executive committee members have appealed to all Association members to experience Virtual Darshan and to offer their Pushpanjali sitting at their home /convenient place and to pray before the Goddess Durga Mata for the excellent health and prosperity of all, said Association general secretary Prabirkumar Ghosh in a Press statement issued here today.
