Bitcoin is new age currency

Aurangabad, March 22:

‘Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are new-age money. Our country has to accept today or tomorrow,” said Dr Vijay Kakde, noted economist.

He was speaking in a lecture organised online by Sahakar Maharshi Balasaheb Pawar Study Centre of Dr Babsaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Monday. Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath presided over the ceremony.

Management Council members Kishor Shitole, Dr Rajesh Karpe, industrialist Mansingh Pawar, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi and Dr Kailas Ambhure were present.

Dr Vijay Kakde said that virtual currency has become a global medium of exchange.

“Online dealings and transactions were increased across the world during the last one year because of COVID. The geographical barrier among countries was abolished because of globalisation. It has created a virtual world. International dealings were increased in a global village,” he added.

Pro-VC Dr Shirsath and Dr Purushottam Deshmukh also spoke. Ajay Pawar conducted the proceedings while Sanjay Shinde proposed a vote of thanks.
