Aurangabad, April 3:

The growing number of corona patients is resulting in an atmosphere of fear among the citizens. Also, restrictions and night curfew have adversely affected the business. According to the Jilha Vyapari Mahasangh, business in the city has declined by 20 to 25 per cent. Fear of corona has caused consumers to keep away from the shops.

The lockdown, which took place last year, caused huge financial losses to businesses. Many of the shops were rented, making it difficult for traders to pay their rent, salaries, electricity bills and other expenses. The lockdown hit the small entrepreneurs hard as all the work was stalled. Later, after the lockdown, the industry and business resumed. Shops also opened. The first few months of the business were at a loss. Moreover, people did not step out for shopping because of the fear of coronavirus. Gradually the situation changed. Industry and business began to recover. Citizens flocked to the market for shopping. While Corona was coming under control, the number of patients in the district started increasing in the last few days. Over the past year, the administration has been working tirelessly day and night to bring corona under control. Yet the virus is rapidly increasing. A curfew was imposed in the city after 8 pm. On the other hand, with the growing number of patients, there is still some fear among the citizens. This is starting to affect business.

Business affected severely

Citizens are not going out shopping. According to mahasangh president Jagannath Kale, despite the curfew after 8 pm, consumers stop coming to the shop since 6 pm due to fear of action. This has made a huge difference in the business. Professionals are facing losses. He said the total business in the city has declined by about 20 to 25 per cent. The number of corona patients has increased since March. Therefore, there is an atmosphere of fear among the citizens, he said.
