Citizens pushed to face inconvenience at vaccination centres during daytime

Aurangabad, May 13:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator had ordered to arrange drinking water, erect pandals and provide chairs for the citizens arriving at the vaccination centres. However, the order seemed to have been not taken seriously and the citizens are pushed to face inconvenience at a majority of the centres due to the absence of the above facilities during the sultry weather.

The administrator A K Pandey had assigned different responsibilities to the additional commissioner, the city engineer (and nodal officer), the deputy commissioner (and Task Force head), the municipal officer of health (MoH) and the ward officers. Of which, the responsibility of arranging tea and biscuits, drinking water, erection of pandals, 50 chairs, cleaning the campus etc at all 115 vaccination centres was given to the ward officers. However, it has been observed that the pandals are erected at some centres, while the citizens had to wait under the naked sun at a majority of the centres. This could be experienced at Shivajinagar, Sadatnagar, Bansilalnagar, Nehrunagar and Baijipura Health Centres, it is learnt.
