CM assures of granting fund to reopen visitor centres at Ellora, Ajanta

The chief minister Uddhav Thackeray today assured of considering the need of Rs 12 crore fund required to re-open the Ellora Visitors Centre (EVC) and Ajanta Visitors Centre (AVC) for the tourists on priority. He also assured of granting fund to clear the pending proposals of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Thackeray was in the city to hold a meeting at the district collectorate, to review the development works approved by him in the meeting held at the divisional commissionerate in January 2020, today afternoon.

The divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar presented him the status of approved proposals. He pointed out that, out of the total proposals, 36 had completed and seven are incomplete due to many reasons, including funds. Kendrekar also drew the CM's attention towards issuance of the fund to complete pending proposals of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and underlined the need of Rs 12 crore to re-open the closed EVC and AVC. Accordingly, Thackeray assured of releasing the funds and directed him to submit the status report and list of works to be undertaken

on the priority level.

The district collector Sunil Chavan highlighted the performance and progress of the district. The municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey also submitted his progress report and drew his attention towards the pending proposal of implementing the new staffing pattern in Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The chief minister assured to both the officers of clearing their pending issues, soon. He told them to submit the details of pending proposals. The construction of a new Zilla Parishad building by spending Rs 34 crore was also discussed in the meeting. The CM assured of visiting the city to perform the 'bhoomipujan' of the new office building.

MLA Sanjay Shirsaat, MLC Ambadas Danve, Zilla Parishad chief executive officer Mangesh Gondawale, commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta, superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil, GMCH dean Dr Kanan Yelikar and the officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
