Concern among traders in Waluj due to the increase in lockdown

Aurangabad, April 30:

The government has decided to extend the lockdown till May 15 to bring coronavirus under control. This has created an atmosphere of anxiety among traders and labourers in the Waluj industrial area.

The second wave of Covid-19 has hit the Waluj area for the past three months. The government had imposed a curfew by announcing a lockdown under break the chain. The sale of essential commodities, hospitals, medical stores and petrol pumps were exempted from the lockdown. The first phase of lockdown has ended and the number of corona patients is also declining significantly. Therefore, the government again decided to impose the lockdown till May 15. This decision has added to the worries of Small and big traders and labourers in Waluj. The lockdown has shut down businesses, disrupting the economy of traders and businessmen. The traders alleged that the government is not thinking of traders and the working class before announcing lockdown. Traders said that due to the lockdown, shops had to be closed during the festivals like Ramzan Eid and Gudi Padwa and marriages. At the same time, those who work in the industrial sector, such as porters, labourers, mechanics also have to face difficulties due to lockdown. Ganesh Raut, Ganesh Bhade, Sameer Shaikh and others have demanded free ration and financial assistance from the government due to loss of employment and closure of businesses due to lockdown.
