Contractor caught while accepting bribe of Rs 7 K

Aurangabad, March 16:

Sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jalna caught red-handed a middleman (also contractor) while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a contractor for getting approval for a connection estimate.

According to details, the complainant (49-year-old contractor) wanted to get an approved electricity connection estimate of two customers from Chikalthana office of Mahaveetran Company.

Middleman Ashish Babulal Jaiswal (31, Jinsi) assured him of getting the work done from the executive engineer's office of the company and sought Rs 7,000.

The 49-year-old contractor lodged a complaint with ACB. The ACB team led by police inspector S H Shaikh laid a trap near Garware Stadium at 3 pm on March 15 and caught Ashish Jaiswal while accepting a bribe. A case was registered with MIDC Cidco Police Station against Jaiswal, who is also a contractor by profession.
