COVID vaccine programme to implement in two phases in district: DC

Aurangabad, Jan 4:

The district collector Sunil Chavan said that the dates to implement the special immunisation programme to administer Covid-19 vaccine, to all doctors and paramedical staff, will soon be announced by the government. The administration will implement the programme in two phases in the district.

He was speaking at a meeting to review vaccine implementation programme. Chavan clarified, " The date, time and place of administering the vaccine will be messaged to each beneficiary (registered online) on their mobile phones. The trained health personnel should be deployed at each vaccine booth. The programme will be implemented in two phases in the district. I had reviewed the preparations. The sub-divisional officer and tehsil will be responsible for the planning of the programme at the tehsil level. The health officials should ensure that the booths where the vaccine will be given are equipped with all facilities and clean. there should be no shortage of workforce."

It will be mandatory upon persons taking Covid vaccine to use a face mask, sanitiser and maintain physical distance every day in their lives, the collector underlined.

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) civic chief Astik Kumar Pandey, Zilla Parishad chief executive officer (CEO) Mangesh Gondawale, superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil, district health officer Dr S Shelke, Dr Wagh, WHO''s Dr Syed Mujeeb, municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar, civil surgeon Dr S V Kulkarni and others were present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta said, " For the past one year, all of them were unitedly fighting against the Coronavirus and to keep it away. Now, we had arrived at an important curve. The police department will contribute actively to the vaccine programme. The role of all of them is important. Hence, all of them should be on toes for the successful implementation of it."
