Crores of rupees worth of rural development works in the district canceled

The provision made by the previous government for roads and other development works in rural areas of the district has been canceled by this government. It is learned that there are works worth more than Rs 50 crore pending in the district. These included construction of halls, cement roads within the village, installation of paver blocks. Most of the work orders for sanctioned works have been issued, while at some places 70 per cent of the works have been completed. The Mahavikas Aghadi government has repealed the ordinance of works of the old government, the question has arisen as to what will happen to the pending works.

These works were to be done in Gangapur, Phulambri, Vaijapur, Sillod, 15 was issued in the last phase of the tenure of the previous government. While sanctioning works worth Rs 1,100 crore, the government has canceled the sanctioned works as per the old ordinance and made new provision. Some public representatives in the district have expressed disappointment stating that the works have been given by repealing the old ordinances. The information that a new decision has been taken by canceling the old ordinance came to the fore in the meeting of the district planning committee held on October 9. As a result, there was a verbal feud between Minister of State Abdul Sattar and MLA Prashant Bamb.

Tender for 25 to 30 per cent works pending

Superintending engineer of PWD Suresh Deshpande said, "We have just been informed that some works have been canceled and new ones have been taken. The works under 25:15 included construction of halls, construction of drains, cement roads and paving blocks. Tenders for some works have been issued. About 25 to 30 per cent of the tenders are due to an interim order. Works that have not been given a work order are likely to be canceled."

Equal funding to all

Minister of state Abdul Sattar said that as per the decision taken by the previous government, the work orders have not been canceled. The remaining works have been canceled. Now that there is a new government, a strategic decision has been made. Accordingly, new works worth Rs 1,100 crore were allotted. The previous government had announced some works ahead of the elections. At that time, they did not provide equal funding to all public representatives. No fund was given in Sillod. This government has distributed equal funds to all, including the opposition MLAs, at 25:15.

Preparing to go to court

The work under the rural development head was 25:15. The chief minister and the finance minister have special powers to allot these works. During the previous government, these works were sanctioned by the then CM and other ministers. We will go to court with the ordinance and other information said MLA Prashant Bamb.
