Danve urge CM to provide 225 MT quantity of oxygen daily to Marathwada

Aurangabad, April 17:

Shiv Sena's speaker and district head MLC Ambadas Danve has written a letter to the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray drawing his attention to the need for 225 metric tones of oxygen daily for the patients in Marathwada and urged him to intervene in the matter so that the supply is maintained regularly.

The oxygen supply from Lindek in Murbad is reserved for Nasik, Dhule and Jalgaon districts. The patients from Marathwada does not get any quantity of oxygen from here. Marathwada is getting an inadequate quantity of oxygen from Dolvi (in Raigad), while oxygen from the Chakan plant is used for industrial purpose. Hence Danve requested the CM to consider the situation and immediately issue an order to a company to provide oxygen to the eight districts of the region.

Danve underlined that the oxygen is not available as per the demand for the past few days. Hence kindly supply 225 MT of oxygen as the demand has grown up after April 15. The supply of oxygen was disrupted in the last week. The patient's health may be pushed to a critical situation if he does not get the oxygen on time.

Presently, 21 litres of oxygen is given to each patient per minute. Besides, a committee headed by the additional collector has been formed to conduct an oxygen audit (checking leakages in oxygen pipes and study whether a patient gets the required quantity of oxygen etc) and take appropriate measures on it. Danve urged the CM to instruct the Department of Food and Drugs Administration to supply 225 MT quantity of oxygen on regular basis.
