Darekar demands to register cases against policemen for beating Nariyalwale

Aurangabad, May 29:

The police severely beat the activist of the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Shivraj Nariyalwale over petty reasons. The PSI and five policemen were suspended in this incident. However, the deputy superintendent and police inspector were also involved in the incident. Opposition leader of the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar demanded to suspend all the police officers responsible and register cases against them, in a press conference here on Saturday. Darekar also met the special inspector general of police M K Prasanna and submitted a memorandum in this regard. MLA Atul Save, BJP city president Sanjay Kenekar, state spokesperson Shirish Boralkar and others were present.

Darekar said, the video of beating of Nariyalwale by the policemen was viran after a month. The superintendent of police suspended one PSI and five policemen. The rights to take action against PI Prashant Mahajan is with the IG while the government has the rights to take action against deputy superintendent. Hence, we have demanded to register cases against all the police officers responsible. IG Prasanna has assured to take action after receiving the report within two days. If the action is not taken, BJP will launch a massive agitation in this regard across the state. Nariyalwale was pressurized so that he could not say anything about it.

The state government is mentioned that the Maratha reservation issue should be solved by the union government. The issue should be resolved by remaining in the ambit of the laws. The stand taken by MP Raje Sambhaji Raje is appropriate. BJP has supported the Maratha reservation, Darekar mentioned.
