DDH receives stock of 60K Covishield vaccine; wait for Covaxin continues

Aurangabad, April 13:

The deputy directorate of health (DDH) has received a stock of 60,000 doses of Covishield vaccination. However, the directorate will have to wait for two more days to get the stock of Covaxin in the district.

Of the total stock, 30,000 doses have been provided for urban patients through Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and 10,000 doses for rural patients through District Health Officer. The vaccine stock is believed to be sufficient for one week. The office will be receiving more stock on Monday. Meanwhile, there is an extreme shortage of Covaxin and its stock is expected to be received in a couple of days.

It may be noted that the district had received stock of 22,000 doses of Covaxin, so far. Its shortage has pushed the citizens, who had taken its first dose, into confusion as the date of their second dose is coming near.

The deputy director (health) Dr Swapnil Lale confirmed that the stock of Covishield vaccine has received. " After reviewing the availability of vaccine in stock with AMC and DHO, we supplied them a fresh stock to vaccines. We will be receiving more vaccine stock on Monday. Besides, the stock of Covaxin doses is expected to receive by Thursday," said Dr Lale.
