Degloor MLA Antapurkar passes away

Aurangabad, April 9: Congress MLA from Delgoor in Nanded district Raosaheb Antapurkar died while being treated at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai late tonight. He was 63.

On March 17, he was diagnosed Covid positive. He was shifted to Mumbai on March 20. His lungs and both kidneys were affected and he was put on a ventilator on April 2. He is survived by a son, two daughters and extended family.

Antapurkar was born on August 12, 1958. He had obtained a graduate degree from the Government Engineering College Aurangabad and had served in the vigilance department of the then Maharashtra State Electricity Board. However, he quit the job to contest the 2009 assembly elections and won. He was defeated in 2014 but emerged victorious by defeating Shiv Sena nominee Subhash Sabane in 2019 polls.
