Demonstration against fuel price hike, ignoring CM's appeal

Aurangabad, Feb 22:

Members of the National Students union of India (NSUI) and other parties affiliated with Congress staged a demonstration in front of a district collector officer on Monday, ignoring the appeal made by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

It may be noted that the CM had appealed to all parties and organisations 24 hours ago not to agitate in view of the rise in COVID patients.

But, members of different organisations staged demonstrated in front of the district collector office today. There was a tight police bandobast. NSUI agitators said they are agitation as per the instructions from party seniors in protest against a hike in fuel prices.

Congress city unit president Mohammed Hisham Osmani claimed that it was planned agitation. “We have demonstrated with meagre activists and it was decided in advance,” he added.

Marathwada president of Congress (minority) Ahmed Chaus, Imran Pathan, Muzaffar Khan and others were present.

Dalit Mahasangh activists led by Machhindra Sakte agitated today, demanding providing Rs 1000 crore capital to Annabhau Sathe Mahamandal. Suresh Chavan, Pushpalata Sakte, Laxmi Pawar, Shankar Mahapure, Suresh Kamble and others present.

Republican Sena members demonstrated in front of the district collector office demanding to reduce fuel and domestic gas cylinder prices.

The agitators said that the rise in fuel prices has made life difficult for common people. City unit president of Sena Milind Bansode, Kakasaheb Gaikwad, Sunil Manore and others were present.
