Desai sanctions Rs 1.37 crore for Deogiri Electronics Cluster

Aurangabad, Feb 23:

State industries minister Subhash Desai has approved the grant of Rs 1.37 crore to Deogiri Electronics Cluster Pvt Ltd, Shendra and also agreed to increase the budget of the scheme for power subsidy applicable to industrial units, informed CMIA president Kamleish Dhoot. A delegation of the CMIA met the industries minister Subhash Desai in Mumbai on Monday. Dhoot submitted a detailed representation to the minister on various issues being faced by industries in the Marathwada region.

In the meeting, the delegation raised issues including approval of Rs 2 crore For Deogiri Electronics Cluster Pvt Ltd, Grant of extension of investment period and claim by one year to avail the benefit under Industrial Promotion Subsidy (IPS), request for disbursement of 100 per cent incentive amount on submission of application for its disbursement, extension of delayed submission of IPS claims for the period 2018-19, simplification of the process to avail benefit of power subsidy of 75 paise for expansion or new unit, request to increase the budget of power subsidy. CMIA vice president S Jaju, development commissioner (Industries) Harshdeep Kamble, CEO MIDC, Dr P Anbalagan, CMIA secretary Satish Lonikar, past presidents Gautam Nandawat, Ashish Garde, members Nitin Kabra, Suresh Todkar and Vinayak Deolankar were present.

Will increase power subsidy

Giving more information, Dhoot said, the minister has agreed to increase the power subsidy budget to boost the industries in Marathwada and Vidarbha. He has also agreed to the disbursement of incentive to the extent of 95 per cent on submission of application. The energy department will take a decision regarding the benefit of power subsidy of 75 paise per unit in case of expansion and the request for the delayed submission of IPS claims for the period 2018-19 is under discussion.
