District may receive moderate rainfall

Aurangabad, Feb 16:

The Chikalthana India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Aurangabad district that is witnessing cloudy conditions might experience light rainfall between February 17 to 20.

While the IMD has also predicted moderate rainfall around various parts of Marathwada.

At present, the minimum temperature is settling around 12 to 16°C over the city, whereas the maximum temperatures are in the higher 30-32°C. But as the week progresses temperatures will see a gradual rise over Aurangabad.

According to officials, this persistence of high clouds over the district is very much likely to stay for another 48-72 hours. And in the meantime rain is likely to show up across Marathwada. Only light winds are persisting over the city which is not allowing the clouds to move away soon enough.

These clouds have high moisture content making them sufficient for rainfall. The IMD has warned farmers to take necessary measures to protect their standing crops and store harvest. The officials stated that lightning, thunder and windy conditions might prevail in the district.
