District records detection of 12K Covid patients in past eight days

Aurangabad, March 25:

The district administration has geared up to tackle the emergency situation as 12,751 Covid-19 patients, including 8920 from the city limit and 3827 from the rural limit, had been detected in the past eight days. Meanwhile, 136 patients had died while undergoing treatment during the above period.

The rate of patients detection during the last eight days is 17.99 per cent. The detection of patients, in city and rural, with the figures of deceased (in bracket) include March 17 - 961 and 373 (17), March 18 - 1165 and 992 (15), March 19 - 1062 and 189 (05), March 20 - 1217 and 461 (20), March 21 - 984 and 448 (11), March 22 - 1019 and 387 (20), March 23 - 1253 and 538 (25) and March 24 - 1263 and 439 (23).

So far, 1055 patients (70.94 pc) hailing from the city had died during the treatment and 432 (29.05 pc) from the rural sector. The percentage of patients recovery is 77.78 pc (City) and 82.70 pc (Rural). To sum up, patients' average recovery rate is 79.06 pc and the death rate is 0.93 pc.

Total active patients

According to the administration, there are 13,646 active patients in the district. It includes 10,230 from the city and 3,416 from the rural. The percentage is 75.96 and 25.04 respectively. The tehsil wise strength of patients includes Aurangabad (City) - 10,230, Aurangabad tehsil - 1,055, Gangapur - 571, Vaijapur - 485, Kannad - 452, Paithan - 336, Phulambri - 143, Sillod - 184, Khuldabad - 103 and Soyegaon - 87.

Testing in district

The administration has conducted 4.15 lakh tests in the city and 53,423 in rural on per million population. It includes 1.34 lakh tests conducted from February 1 to March 23.
