Educated people should strive for deprived classes justice : Dr Narnawre

Aurangabad, Jan 14: “Educated people should strive for the justice of deprived class of society,” said Dr Prashant Narnawre, commissioner of Social Justice Department.

He was speaking in a programme organised in Bamu on Thursday to celebrate 27th name extension day of university. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole presided over the ceremony. Pro-vice-chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi and Shaikh Jaleel (deputy commissioner, Social Justice Department) were present.

Director of Board of Students Development Department Dr Mustajeeb Khan and director of Board of Examination and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil, Management Council members and deans, were present.

Dr Prashant Narnawre said great leaders like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Gandhi, Mahatma Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar had shown us that world changes when one changes thoughts. He said that Dr Ambedkar showed light to those who were in darkness for thousands of years.

“There is discrimination based on caste, religion, language and gender across the world. The country of Babasaheb’s dream will come into existence when these discriminations are abolished,” he added. VC Dr Yeole, Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath also spoke. Sanjay Shinde conducted the proceedings while Dr Jaishree Kulkarni proposed a vote of thanks.
