Education officer denies permission to shut down school

Aurangabad, May 21:

The Maharashtra Public School in Maheshnagar had informed the parents about the decision to close the school. The angry parents then rushed to education officer (primary) Surajprasad Jaiswal. Jaiswal has informed the school that it will not be possible to close the school in the academic year 2021-22 as it is not possible to accommodate all the students under RTE quota in the nearest school in the area.

The school administration had claimed that the decision to close the school was taken only after the permission of the education officer. However, the parents had protested against the decision and had demanded the officials to save the educational loss of students. Jaiswal informed the school president, secretary and headmaster on Friday that there are about four hundred students in the Marathi medium school of the primary section. There is no school in this area that can accommodate so many students. Also not all students cannot be accommodated in other schools during the pandemic. Therefore, school cannot be closed in the academic year 2021-22.
