Electrification of Manmad to Nanded single track route delayed

Aurangabad, March 14:

Bhumipujan of electrification of the one-way route between Manmad to Nanded is delayed due to coronavirus. As a result, the work of electrification is not getting momentum. Various railway projects in Marathwada are already on paper for years. Hence the railway associations have demanded to start the work without bhumipujan.

The electrification of the Manmad-Nanded railway line was cleared a few days back. With the completion of the tender process, the administration is planning to hold the groundbreaking ceremony of this work. The officials recently finalised the place to put the cornerstone of Bhumipujan. The railway administration also prepared invitations for the public representatives of Marathwada for this ceremony. But as the corona cases increased in February, the bhumipujan was delayed.

Start work without ceremony

We have to wait for the railway issue in Marathwada to be resolved for years. Bhumipujan of electrification work was to be held in January, then was extended to February. Half the month of March is over, but no ceremony was held. Work can be started without ceremony said, Omprakash Verma, chairman, Marathwada Railway Development Committee.

Difficulty due to corona

The railway minister was to arrive in the first week of March for Bhumi Pujan. But corona cases are rising. I am in touch with the minister. He will be here when the cases decrease. Bhumi Pujan can be done online from Delhi or work can start without the ceremony. Discussions were held with the railway board in this regard said MP Dr Bhagwat Karad.
