Encroachment in Himayat Baugh demolished

Aurangabad, May 31:

Encroachment came up at Himayat Baugh Fruit Research Centre in Aref Colony was demolished on Monday in the presence of district collector Sunil Chavan and commissioner of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Astik Kumar Pandey.

Ashok Dhavle, the vice-chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agriculture University, met Sunil Chavan and apprised him of encroachment on the land of Fruit Research Centre.

Taking its notice immediately, the district collector and AMC commissioner instructed the machinery concerned to inspect the spot and take action. The Anti-Encroachment Squad of the civic body removed the encroachment.

AMC additional commissioner B B Nemane, Ravindra Nikam, Aparna Thete and others were present. Sunil Chavan and Astik Kumar Pandey also visited the encroachments proving hurdles on Aurangabad-Ajanta National Highway expansion.

Superintending engineering of Public Works Department Prashant Auti, executive engineer Mohan Sawngikar and deputy engineering Abhijit Gadekar gave information about the encroached land to the district collector.
