Father, son arrested for betting on IPL

Aurangabad, Oct 20:

Special team of Commissioner of Police raided a place in Kachiwada and arrested two persons Monday night for betting on IPL. Many persons from the city placed Rs 70 lakh to Rs 80 lakh betted on October 18 match and Rs 2.38 lakh on October 19 match.

The arrested have been identified as Nemichand Shantilal Kasliwal (56) and Akash Nemichand Kasliwal (22), both the resident of Kachiwada. The accused were indulged in betting illegally.

Jinsi Police arrested one bookie eight days ago. As this was afresh, police received information last evening that Kasliwals were accepting and placing money on cricket matches.

Acting on a tip-off, API Rahul Rode, employees-V R Nikam, M R Rathod, V J Aade, M V Vikhankar, A R Kharat, V S Pawar, S J Syed, P M Sarsande, Shruti Nandedkar raided a house at Monday night and arrested the accused.

Police constable Imran Pathan lodged a complaint with City Chowk Police Station on behalf of Government.

Police found dairy which names of those who have placed money on matches.
