Four government offices make antigen test mandatory for visitors; entry to Covid-19 negative persons only

Aurangabad, Feb 24:

It has now made mandatory for the visitors to undergo antigen test if they are visiting the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), District Collectorate, Police Commissionerate and Divisional Commissionerate offices for their work from today. A total of 228 visitors were tested at the office, and three persons had been detected as Covid-19 positives.

There is a sudden rise in the number of Coronavirus infected persons. As many as 800 persons had been detected as Covid-19 patients in the past six days. The administration was in a state of shock when 240 persons were reported as Covid-19 positives in the district on Tuesday. This prompted the administration to impose the night curfew between 11 pm and 6 am (from February 23) till March 8.

" Various measures, including testing, are taken in the city limits. Reviewing the rush of visitors for their work at the above four offices, the AMC has been deployed a squad at each of the four office from today (Wednesday). The squad will function from 10 am to 6 pm (excluding holidays) and will allow entry only to persons if they are tested as Covid-19 negative after antigen test. The persons reporting Covid-19 positive will be admitted to the nearest AMC's Covid Care Centre for treatment," said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar.

Three Covid-19 patients detected

It was observed that the majority of the visitors arrived at the entrances of the four offices, but on seeing the testing by health teams, they left the places. As a result, the offices wore a deserted look during the whole day.

Meanwhile, 100 persons (two detected as Covid-19 positive) underwent antigen test at Divisional Commissionerate, 39 (found one infected) at District Collectorate, 20 at the Police Commissionerate and 69 at the AMC.
